Doctor Who Internet brings you relevant videos, articles, and various fan projects of amazing, humorous, or historical relevance.

First appearing in the last story of the first Doctor, the Cybermen have been famous villains in Who history. Though more prominent in the classic series, the Cybermen it turns out have their own fan base akin that of the Daleks’. Or TARDISes and Tom Baker scarves. Cyberman Builders! Just like a TARDIS Builders or a Project Dalek- but for Cybermen. [link]

One particular Cyberman builder is using a very Do-It-Yourself method called pepakura- the bending and folding of paper templates printed from a 3D CGI representation. Once bent folded and set up, a person can then strengthen the paper with resin and fiberglass, sand, and then paint for a sturdy and authentic looking Cyberman suit. Though the learning curve is low, the effort put in is vast and proportional to the quality of one’s suit. See deviantART user’s work in progress: [link] Learn about the pepakura process: [link] [link]

:bulletblue: The Adventure [link] A lovely video celebrating the companions of all Doctors from Calapine, the ‘What About Everything’ creator.

:bulletblue: Doctor Who Puppet Pals [link] Maybe not of the same calibre as the original Harry Potter version, but still vastly amusing.Even if like me, you skipped parts

:bulletblue: BBCClassicDoctorWho [link] For those fans who are still unsure about classic Who, perhaps intimidated by its vastness, disillusioned by its age, or just plain curious. The official channel of classic Who is a good place to see behind the scenes, CGI remasters and clips from classic Who.

:bulletblue: Whovian Test [link] For the fan who considers them self the authority on new Who. Test yourself and see if you can name every episode of new Who including the specials in under ten minutes.

:bulletblue: Behind the Scenes  [link] [link] of the Christmas special for 2011 and the show in general.

:bulletblue: First Time [link] [link] For the curious fan- the first time the question is asked and the first time the Time Lords are ever mentioned. Take note that the cube in the second clip is like that of the Corsair’s in the series 6 story The Doctor’s Wife. And here’s a minor and totally irrelevant spoiler for the series 6 finale that doesn’t affect the plot at all: the episode in the first clip is called The Cave of Skulls. A scene in the finale takes place in a cave full of skulls.

XD The Doctor Who puppet pals was so cute! Commmpaannniiiooonnnsss
Thank you so much for posting behind the scenes stuff. I absolutely love seeing things like that, how they did stunts or what it looks like while they are recording without all the effects.
I absolutely d'awwwwed when I saw the Dalek and Tardis the kids made for their dad ^__^
And if I had been drinking something when I saw 'The sounds of drums' I would have spat it out all over my computer.

Thanks for the mention! Would be great to see more Cybermen at conventions in the future, especially outside the UK. I hope to bring the suit to life before summer in it's most basic form and "Upgrade" through the summer. It takes a bit of time, but as you see the pieces form to look like the images and action figures, it makes it worth it. No matter your skill level, all the crafters who are taking on the Cyberman form have been great resources for answers and welcome more builders. We are a very small group....for now. :)
